Good Question:
I am planning a weeklong vacation to Nepal at the end of May this year. I will be traveling with my husband and 04-year daughter. Please recommend some sightseeing options and friendly budget hotels. How would the weather be in May?

Good Answer:
There are many sightseeing options for families with kids in Nepal. You can visit cities like Kathmandu and Pokhara, which are easily accessible. In Kathmandu Valley, many UNESCO Heritage Sites like Kathmandu Durbar Square, Patan Durbar Square, Bhaktapur Durbar Square, Pashupati, Boudha, Swoyambhu etc. for sightseeing. You can also go to nearby towns like Nagarkot and Dhulikhel from where you can enjoy the beautiful views of lush hills and panoramic mountains.
Pokhara is the blend of both nature and culture. You can visit sites like Phewa Lake, Peace Stupa, Mahendra Cave and Gupteshwor Cave, Bindabasini Temple, Davis Fall, the gorge of the Seti River, etc enjoying the captivating views of mountains throughout. If you are interested in wildlife, you can also include Chitwan, the home of Chitwan National Park, also a UNESCO Heritage site.
There is a wide range of budget-friendly hotels offering friendly services in all these cities. May is late Spring or early Summer in Nepal, which is a beautiful time for city tours. The mornings are usually warm and clear, but afternoon cloud build-up can bring occasional showers. Late May can be hotter and more humid with the temperature rising to 30°C and 40°C or more in Kathmandu, Pokhara, and Chitwan.
