For more than a decade, travel buddies, television show hosts, and insatiable eaters Rocky Singh and Mayur Sharma have traveled over four lakh kilometers by road trip in India and abroad for their food and travel shows and have eaten over 7,000 dishes. As India announces more unlock guidelines allowing people to move more freely across borders, the duo shares their ultimate guide to road tripping.
First things first: how do you pick a place to stop at while on the road trip? Any things one should look out for?
Mayur: We’re not super fussy. The important thing is that the rooms and bathrooms are clean, the sheets freshly laundered, and if possible, they serve butterscotch ice cream in-room service. The icing on the cake is a swimming pool for me. Rocky needs a ceiling fan even with the air conditioning.
Rocky: A popular eatery makes waves in the world of highway travelers. Almost everyone going from Delhi to Punjab knows of the dhabas of Murthal. On the Delhi to Nainital route, everyone knows of the famous eateries of Gajraula.
